I think the correct word is "socket", as for plugs, but I am not 100% sure. Can someone please confirm this or provide another definition?

(US) outlets (receptacles) / (UK) power sockets (plug sockets)

I believe in the US the "contacto" is the "outlet" and "receptáculo" is "receptacle."
In the UK they're known as "power sockets" or "plug sockets"; I've never heard the outer part referred to as a different part because they're usually all one piece (unlike those in Mexico and the US).

"Remove indoor outlet - Add Outdoor Outlet
• Unscrew the wall plate on the indoor outlet.
• Unscrew and pull the receptacle from the wall."

"Power sockets, also known as plug sockets"
