Hi All,
Would appreciate some help with this term for US English.
It's taken from a neurology discharge report. Most of the report refers to the NIHSS Stroke Score, the patient has had a mild stroke. Does it just mean "with no facial compromise"?
"A la exploración NIHSS 3 a expensas de paresia en extremidades derechas claudicando levemente

Facial sparing is just like it sounds, it (whatever condition you are talking about) spares the face. Just search google for "facial sparing" and you will find many examples. Don't forget to use quotation marks in your search, that way it will be read together by Google. Better yet, here is my search: https://www.google.com/search?sxsrf=ACYBGNSCVKM1l3dkJiggasgX...

Techincally the complete translation would be "with facial sparing" but you get the idea.

Example sentence:
It (refers to insular ischemic stroke) affected a hemibody with (n = 1) or without facial sparing (n = 3), or was limited to one or two limbs (n = 6).
Note from asker:
Thanks José, "sparing" is the one, the commonly used phrase seems to be "with sparing of the face". |
