Gland Packing will be suitable packed to afford protection to component

The upper part of the bonnet should be left unlagged for access to the gland.

Slacken the gland nuts, the stem locknut and the stem connector through bolts.

Re-tighten the gland nuts.

During an inspection the following items on the valve assembly should be checked:
2.1 Gland for leakage

Gland adjustment is possible by further tightening of the gland nuts.
