French term

Vêture

French to English Tech/Engineering Architecture
“Bardage, vêture ou parement.”

My understanding is that they all refer to types of cladding? How would you translate vêture, which unlike bardage doesn’t seem to include an air cavity between the layers?

Thanks in advance.

Cyril Tollari Nov 25, 2019:
My understanding of each term based on what people use in the industry (in plain FR):
Parement : s'il s'agit d'un revêtement massif type pierre brique on utilisera le terme parement (although this one can be debated).

Here is the definition in FR. As opposed to bardage, vêture includes the insulating material.

neutral philgoddard : Siding is US English, which may be no good to the asker.
