nominated signatory approval

Non-PRO English to French Medical Medical: Pharmaceuticals Pharmaceutical marketing
Local adaptation and nominated signatory approval is required prior to use.
Change log

Oct 16, 2019 22:23: Daryo changed "Field (write-in)" from "prescription de stéroïdes" to "Pharmaceutical marketing"

Votes to reclassify question as PRO/non-PRO:

PRO (2): Lionel-N, Daryo

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

Discussion

Daryo Oct 16, 2019:
Context? the way this question was asked you would be induced to think that

"Local adaptation and nominated signatory approval is required prior to use."

is about "using" some medicine, while in fact it's about "using" promotional material in pharmaceutical marketing in the local market.

Seems logical.

neutral Daryo : what seems "logical" in a context-free / vague "context" is not always logical in the relevant context.

La présente demande renseignée, datée et signée ; ... en cours de validité (moins de deux ans) établi par un médecin agréé par la préfecture du Rhône,.
Peer comment(s):

disagree Eliza Hall : Disagree unless the poster confirms that the "nominated signatory" on this is an approved medical doctor.

Well then stay neutral!
neutral Daryo : the way this question was asked is misleading it's NOT about "prescription" for any particular patient but about authorising local versions of marketing material

Nominated signatory meaning
...

Medical signatories must be a registered medical practitioner or a pharmacist registered in the UK or alternatively, in the case of a product for dental use only, a UK registered dentist. There are no requirements in the Code relating to the actual qualifications of medical signatories.

This would normally be the registered manager or another person authorised by them. This process is carried out when you register with us and does not mean the nominated signatory can sign the back of the Disclosure form.

The authorised signatory (AUS) can nominate an organisation contact (ORC) to complete the bulk renewal application but only the AUS can sign it.
...
A signatory puts his or her signature on a document that is also signed by others. In 1215 the English barons revolted against King John and forced him to join them as a signatory to the Magna Carta.
