: A "breakout" is very different from a "breakdown"! EN versions of FR websites are not always to be trusted (they're only human translators, after all...) but see Tony's comments above.

BUT... if you read the small print, it does also say that it allows the trainer to apply simulated faults for training purposes. I still think it is simplistic to call it 'breakdown', as like you, I feel certain an official term exists; and I think 'diagnostics' might well be it, inasmuch as that kind of implies 'troubleshooting', and it's not such a big step from there to simulating faults. In any case, as part of troubleshooting, i'd imagine it is useful to be abelt so imulate faults, even if not specifically intended for training purposes.
