Chinese term

B.Grp 据点

Chinese to English Science Chemistry; Chem Sci/Eng
Hello,

I am translating a purchase specification of a chemical product, and I don't know what "B.Grp、据点" in the following sentences mean:

作为各B.Grp、据点在作成『购买仕样书』时的指导方针(指南),并作为『购买仕样书作成要领』附属文件的另册,而公开。

记载B.Grp・据点的仕样书番号

It seems to be a company specific term, but maybe somebody can help me.

Thanks!

Yes, I think it is influenced by Japanese There are several terms in this text that seems to be taken from Japanese, apparently the writer is a Japanese native speaker with bad Chinese skills.
Since we don't know what he means I can't give any points, but I want to thank you for your support.
Frank Zou Aug 1, 2019:
The source text must have been translated from Japanese or Korean text by a Japanese or Korean as indicated by the phrase "据点", it most likely refers to a branch company. Just a guess

I know the feeling. Translation becomes one giant jigsaw puzzle when dealing with ambiguous, incomplete or badly written source text. If you can please supply more background information then I can perhaps be of further assistance to you? For example, having access to surrounding text, a paragraph of surrounding text, an entire page of source text or most ideally the entire text in a word-processor format (.docx, etc.) would be most helpful. Of course, due to client confidentiality sending more than just a sliver of surrounding text is most likely an impossibility, I understand. In any case, good luck in solving your jigsaw puzzle!

Thanks for the confirmation I am fighting for two days with this text, and it is probably the worst I ever had. "big group stronghold" is just one example.
I was curious how other translators would handle this, but apparently there is no one out there who can make sense out of it.

big group stronghold? The source looks bad, it's not good Chinese

Sorry, I can't open the discussion to see if anyone gave the answer there. I don't think it's a chemical term, it's just referring to the org structure of the company. 据点 could be translated as facility, site, location. It sounds like each unit and each location within the company has to draft their own process documents, perhaps?
