English term

keyset

English Tech/Engineering Telecom(munications) Telecommunications software
Any idea what keyset is or any synonyms (I want to translate it)

XXX allows you to configure your ***keyset*** through a PC screen-based display, rather than by using MMC (man-machine code) commands via the ***keyset keypad***.

XXX provides access to most system facilities and station programming, and allows programmable buttons on the ***keyset*** to be programmed via a graphical user interface complete with help text.

The application itself resides on an IIS web server which in turn is connected to the PBX via the XXX. Your interface to the web server is via an Internet Explorer user interface.

Programmed messages can be used to advise your status to internal callers to your sta-tion. The programmed message will appear on their keyset LCD.

keypad, control pad

Apparently, this is a keypad or control pad, a unit with keys/buttons to control certain functions, with an LCD screen for feedback/information display.

"Keyset keypad" is a bit disconcerting; they seem to be using "keyset" to mean the keypad-cum-screen unit.

The keyset is a programmable/configurable keyboard-display program for the screen. The keyboard of the device can be configured according to the program that is running. An immediate application that comes to mind is multi-lingual / multi-locale software, where, the keyset maps to the locale setting of the machine.

A possible synonym for the word \'keyset\' could be \'programmable keyboard\'.
