Message? The way you describe it, Sheila, it sounds like one of those messages you'd find on the first pages of events programmes etc. (welcome messages from patrons, sponsors and similar - what we call 'Grußwort' in German). Is it something like that? If so, what about simply calling it message [from the president]?

I really just did. The title is "Saluda [company's name]", then a text talking about an event and finally the signature of the president, that's it. Then there is another document listing titles such as "El Saluda de [another company's name]", El Saluda de [another company's name] and so on.

I don't have much context. It is the title of a type of "letter or missive or note" (I don't really know how to call it) which is going to be published in a magazine. It is written by the president of a company.

Depende del contexto, lo simplificaría como "missive" o emplearía una traducción explicativa, como la segunda opción. Todo depende de lo importante que sea especificar que se trata de ese tipo de documento.

agree Andrea Sacchi : A mi me resulta muy claro el "institutional courtesy document". No conocía lo que es un Saluda y lo busqué y vi ejemplos y esta opción me parece muy clara.

Watch the spelling of 'chit'. At my school, it was án odd, ancient term used as an inter-college memo.

Some pubs and restauarants in the UK still use such as a 'note of requisition' of goods or a tally of billable food & drinks consumed.


Example sentence:
