French term

toupie

French to English Art/Literary Art, Arts & Crafts, Painting
This is from a website that makes handmade jewellery. They use a lot of Swarovski crystal beads, but also 'toupies' and I am unsure as of the meaning. Can anyone help?

"Chaque perle est entourée de perles bleues, de toupies en cristal de Swarovski et la partie pendante se termine par une petite perle blanche".

here is the product:

Discussion

Helen Shiner Mar 5, 2019:
@Lara Thank you. It felt a bit strange arguing against someone who was agreeing with me! Perhaps I should have removed my discussion post.
Lara Barnett Mar 5, 2019:
@ Helen Get better soon - (p.s. I have just recovered from a bad virus, which might explain why I did not notice this bead. I get it now.)
Helen Shiner Mar 5, 2019:
@Lara I’m lying in bed ill, trying to see these images on my phone, so I thought it must be me who was missing something ;-) Sorry to sound so vague.
Lara Barnett Mar 5, 2019:
@ Helen Yes, I see now.
Helen Shiner Mar 5, 2019:
@Lara I presumed that the little clear bead, second from the top in Alison’s image, is the same as Barbara’s bicorne shape.
Lara Barnett Mar 5, 2019:
@ Helen I just do not think that the beads in the asker's link are described in any of the suggested answers, and we still need to find a good term. The only shapes of beads used to make up these earrings are round, or at least that is what my eyesight is picking up here. And the "spinning top" reference obviously reflects the smaller base bead with a larger one on top.
I would say "A swirling spinning-top style bead formation/make-up...." or something.
I am not trying to discredit anybody's translation skills here, just giving my opinion as i found it an interesting question; I am sure some may disagree with me.
Helen Shiner Mar 5, 2019:
@Lara I think Barbara has now found the right term. The bead is not round, but a sort of squashed spherical shape, like a spinning top.
Lara Barnett Mar 5, 2019:
Helen's suggestion Yes, I think Helen is correct, although the spinning top likeness is apparent through a little mini-dropped-bead (for want of a better description) at the base of the lager ROUND bead, which makes the earring appear like a spinning top (i.e. larger on top and smaller at the base).
Alison Wedley (asker) Mar 5, 2019:
Ah yes it could do, I never thought of that. :)
Helen Shiner Mar 5, 2019:
@Alison Does it not just mean that the shape is like that of a spinning top?

bicone

Have a look at both the FR and EN versions of these website pages:

These are just a few examples. There are more available, and all the ones I've checked list the product as 'bicone'. The first one, for instance,

Of course, you may also call these bicone beads, as in here
https://tinyurl.com/yxhyaptv
(Swarovski Crystal Bicone Beads)

This is not the case, as the term appears to be 'generic' in your text, but just to confirm the term (albeit hyphenated), here's a sample taken from Swarovski's professional website. In it, this bead is described as

Thank you Barbara, that's really helpful and the shape seems right.

teardrop

I'm not a jewellery expert, but I have certainly heard of this shape in connection with beads. In addition, I see that Swarovski do sell teardrop crystal beads. I don't know if the attached web reference is helpful.
