Italian to English Medical Medical (general) Dosage
I've checked in the ProZ glossaries and both "c" and "cp" seem to stand for capsule. The context is a medical discharge form, giving the medication the patient has to continue taking, for example "[drug name] 20mg 1cx2cp". Does each capsule contain 20 mg and he has to take 2 capsules? Or do "c" and "cp" have different meanings in this context?

Does it need translating, or is it identical in English?

Sorry - it was late and I copied from the wrong part of the document. The real thing reads: "Calcium Carbonate 1gr 1cx2 at main meals, Isosorbide mononitrate 20mg *1cx2cp*, Pantoprazole 40 mg 1c".

The two examples you provided do not match what you posted in your question. For these two examples, the translation is straightforward: 1/2cpx2 = 1/2 tablet twice daily (or bid) and 1cpx2 = 1 tablet twice daily. The 1cx2cp is confusing to me and I would not know how to translate it; is that what you meant to write?

There are at least two: Carvedilol 25 mg 1/2cpx2 and Isosorbide mononitrate 20 mg 1cpx2.
