Interventions help keep each other safe.
It should not be looked at as personal criticism but an opportunity to address safe behaviors and support one another; ensuring that each of us goes home in the same condition we arrived.
It is an opportunity to coach fellow co-workers on the safety requirements, to offer assistance, and to provide guidance on the proper way to complete a task safely.
Keep it short.
Interventions are intended to be helpful.
They should not be viewed as a lecture.
If discipline is attached to a safety intervention employees will not intervene – no one wants to get their co-workers in trouble.
This is why interventions are reported anonymously under the Proactive Observations Program.
Never use names when reporting a safety intervention.
