Stable (fracture)

Le fratture amieliche non provocano danno neurologico.

Stable fractures don't cause spinal deformity or neurologic (nerve) problems. With a stable fracture, the spine can still carry and distribute your weight pretty well (not as well as if there weren't a fracture, but it's still able to function with a stable fracture).

Peer comment(s):

neutral Anne Schulz : I am not sure if "stable" can be used, can 'lussazione' happen in a stable fracture (I take it, 'lussazione' is what would be called 'distraction' in English)? // No, but I think 'stable' implies 'no distraction' (in German classification, anyway).

Are you implying that every fracture-distraction injury entails nerve damage? / R: I see what you mean now! However, as far as I know - which is corroborated by many references - in the spinal fracture classification "stable" means without nerve damage.
