Dear colleagues:
I have come across this term while translating an article, and I was wondering what you think/suggest for the translation. I used the term مقدار اللا حتمية واختلال التضخيم.
The sentence reads: "the effort of choosing between these two halves of yourself creates a conflict in the brain that can be resolved only through a combination of quantum indeterminacy and chaotic amplification".
My translation is: " إن الجهد المبذول للاختيار بين هذين النصفين من الذات يخلق صراعا في العقل حله الوحيد هو أن الجمع ما بين مقدار اللا حتمية واختلال التضخيم
I would sincerely appreciate your opinions and expertise.

In such important scientific and studies terms, I always prefer the fully Arabic translations. We have a great language. However, it's like everybody simplifies translation into transliteration of Greek terms that constitutes only the roots of other languages, not Arabic.
The theory of chaos= نظرية الفوضى
Indeterminancy= اللاختمية
quantum=الكم
amplification=تضخيم

الجمع بين تناقضات المغامرة والتعقل
في واقع الحال يمكنك ترجمة الجملة أعلاه إلى “اللاحتمية الكمية والتضخيم الفوضوي” وتكون ساعتها قد ترجمت نصك، وحافظت على الامانة فيه.
لكن يبدو ان الترجمة في ميكانيكيتها ستحمل مصطلحات ضخمة وفضفاضة يتجاوز معناها سياق النص المراد ترجمته. أرى أنه بدل الاعتماد على الترجمة أعلاه، يفضل تأمل “اللاحتمية الكمية والتضخيم الفوضوي” بعمق للخروج بمعنى يقارب السياق العام للنص المراد ترجمته.
للوصول إلى المعنى المناسب للترجمة، ومادامت جملة الترجمة أعلاه تعكس ثنائية واضحة، فإنه يمكن اللعب على ثنائيات أخرى معروفة مثل، “النظام والفوضى”، “التغيير والاستقرار”، “الوضوح والغموض”… . طبعا الترجمة السياقية قد تبعدك عن الكلمة الأصلية، لكنها ستعطي تماسكا للمعنى في قالب لغته العربية، بعيدا عن أي مصطلحات فلسفية فضفاضة والله أعلم.
