Hello
I'm gong to have to ask this question twice, once for each term.
In a tracking system, the heading is "Cap vrai" and then it immediately goes on to talk about "cap réel"
Cap réel de la plateforme portant la piste AIS, il est compris entre 0 et 359°.
Are these therefore the same.
I was thinking along the lines of True (vrai) Heading and then Magnetic (réel) heading but I just can't seem to find a simple confirmation of this anywhere.

No, they're not the same thing, it's vital to maintain the distinction!
Yhough as usual, it would be immensely helpful to have the actual source text in FR where they are both used together, instead of your digest of it.

Is there ANY other mention whatsoever of 'cap' elsewhere in your document? If not, then i see what you mean, it seems as if they are (incorrectly!à using them to mean the same thing; but what is the whole purpose of this section, and what is the reference they are using — presumably GPS data?
The two expressions are not used together but exactly as I said
You have a heading with one and then you have the other expression as pasted in my question used just underneath the heading.
