Japanese term

シャフトと計測部ヘッド、本体間

Japanese to English Tech/Engineering Physics Applied Physics
In the paper that I am working on, the following piece is mentioned among the system specification requirements in the traceability matrix of the software integration test foe magnetic material detection. What does "シャフトと計測部ヘッド、本体間" mean?

シャフトと計測部ヘッド、本体間は洗浄防水

Have you tried this? ... Lethika, Thank you for your reply.
whenever an agency breaks up among several translators the source material dealing with a single device, you are perfectly entitled to an access to the 'whole picture' on that material, by way of: its title, abstract if any, ToC, and an image or weblink to the actual product covered. Otherwise how can you possibly do your research on it, when in doubt, based on an incomplete picture, while the wording of the text implies access to a complete one?

Any agency that refuses to comply with such basics of technical translation support is simply unprofessional and hasn't got the slightest clue about the nature of its job.
The agencies that do know what they are doing even circulate to each member of the finalised team the email list of all participants, since they are working on the same material.

Have you tested that agency on its reaction to this request? Worth trying...

Dear Marc Brunet,
At the outset, please accept my apologies for not responding to you earlier. I have been away for a week and got back to my system just today.
Thank you for your interest in my query. But unfortunately, I have little material to go upon.
Evidently the entire paper has been divided into parts and allocated to a number of translators and I have received the part relating to the software aspects. There is no information whatsoever about the mechanical aspects. In fact I am guessing that it is a medical device that is being discussed, based on a few terms here there that refer to a 'patient'.
It makes things that much more challenging and and so I have to depend on the best possible interpretation, with the help of well wishers like you.
Thank you

A few questions, first... This query begs many questions. Does the passage provide any clues on any of these?
- on what scale are these measurements done? micro-electronic scale? (industrial) electric scale?
- you refer to the software-end of the system, but the passage quoted has to refer to the hardware-end of it, Correct?
- is the 'shaft' the object of this measurement?
- is the 'shaft' the target of the cleansing stage?
- what is being measured, a (residual?) magnetic charge? if not what charge?
- is the cleansing stage related / irrelevant to clearing the charge? (assuming fluid-based degaussing methods do exist, if magnetic units are involved)

Thanks for any complementary information.
