In an open-source software project I'm involved with, there's a heated debate between two Swedish volunteer translators about this term. In particular, I'd like to know: is 'solo' an unusual term in Swedish outside of music and sports? Would 'Enskild' be a better translation? Or 'Ensam'? After some discussion, we more or less agreed that 'utvinning' was a better translation for 'mining' that 'brytning', but I'd like to know your opinion anyway. I don't speak Swedish, but my advice as a professional translator was asked.
'Mining' means creating blocks containing new transactions. It's called that way because the miner receives newly created money as a reward. 'Solo mining' means computing hashes in order to mine cryptocurrency without joining a pool of miners. In this case, in the Monero desktop wallet, it's a symbolic activity, with a theoretical chance to win the lottery.
If you want to read the whole debate - but I promise you don't - you can find it here: https://github.com/monero-project/monero-gui/pull/1494

As the Swedish term "solo" is often a part of a compound noun, it should theoretically lead to "soloutvinning" which however looks and sounds strange. As "solo" is also a person who lives alone, a single, the subject and object might be misunderstood and the term seen as "mining of a solo", whatever that might be (not "mining carried out by a solo"). Furthermore, "solo" is often used within sports and music, as you pointed out. Better is to use the adjective "enskild" which gives us the term "enskild utvinning".
