J.P. (Justice of the peace)

English to Japanese Law/Patents Law (general)
These are letters after a persons name at the end of an official letter to denote they are a JP.
e.g. Mr (Name) (Surname) JP
Question is whether it is better to leave as is in English or translate (or include both). We have had suggested 治安判事

いなかの役所に提出するのであれば、「ジャスティスオブピース」では何のことかわからないので「治安判事」の方がよろしい。

official letter? "official letter"とは日本の官庁宛ての文書なのか、それともオーストラリアあたりの官庁宛てなのか、そのあたりはどうなんですかね。
