Wrong syntax in ST "Stoved", here, can only relate to the paintwork, not to the aluminium per se, even though what goes into the stove is the painted aluminium, the reason it goes into the stove is to bake the paint on. The correct term is "stove-painted aluminium" (analab.gr/wp-content/uploads/Electrothermal-Heating-mantles-Metal.pdf "An easy to clean, stove-painted aluminium outer casing." ). However, it is, unfortunately, sometimes written as "painted (stoved) aluminium" as though the fact that it is stoved is an afterthought, or supplementary information. From there, it's easy to see how the brackets get omitted and people with a limited grasp of English grammar start writing it as "painted stoved aluminium".

I believe that with stove-painted aluminium, the paint is applied as a sprayed-on powder coating; so, no brushes.

"Originally they were painted stoved aluminium (Metallichrome Aluminium - ICI: P0-2358). You have a choice of three styles - Standard laced , Competition aka Triple laced or Centre laced - they are all 72 spoke. Down to personal taste but I think the standard laced 5" wheels look best on a road car. Although the flat hubs were standard on the S2 you could opt for the prettier curly hubs.
