Italian term

cauzione

Italian to English Law/Patents Law: Contract(s) atto costitutivo notarile
"In particolare l'organo Amministrativo ha facoltà:
(omissis)
di nominare direttori, procuratori ed institori, fissando le condizioni e le attribuzioni e, occorrendo, **le cauzioni**; sospenderli e revocarli;"

It seems to be a fairly standard clause, but I'm not quite sure what the "cauzione" refers to here. Anyone have experience with this term in Articles of Association or clearer ideas than me?

neutral philgoddard : This fits the context, but I can't find any evidence for it. Doesn't it mean some kind of deposit?
