English term

EEE

English Tech/Engineering General / Conversation / Greetings / Letters abbreviation
Hi,
I am translating a TV user's guide. I need to know what EEE stands for in the EEE MM-dd string. "M" and "d" do certainly stand for month and day, respectively.

Thanks

Discussion

JohnMcDove May 14, 2018:
It is a logical question. And some additional context from the asker would be in order, to be sure what is the usage.
Lingua 5B May 10, 2018:
Not questioning any motives. Only asking a seemingly logical question.
Martin Riordan May 10, 2018:
@ Lingua SB That's a very good question! But who are we to question the motives behind it?
Lingua 5B May 10, 2018:
Java script language? Why would manufacturer address an average TV user using Java script acronyms in User Guide? I would imagine this kind of acronyms to be used among developers.
David Sirett May 9, 2018:
No more context ?! So "EEE MM-dd" is on an otherwise blank page in an unspecified location (chapter? section? paragraph? footer? ...) in a document without headings ;)
In a TV user guide, I would think that EEE is most likely to stand for Electrical and Electronic Equipment, and the date is when the TV was made or put on the market, according to the European directive on waste EEE.
Morad Seif (asker) May 9, 2018:
I though the triple E might differ with the single one.
philgoddard May 9, 2018:
I think you've effectively asked the same question twice, since you've also asked about E on its own.
Morad Seif (asker) May 9, 2018:
John McDove No more context, unfortunately.

day of the week (Monday, Tuesday, etc.)

In the link below, you will see that E, EE and EEE are used in the Java programing language to show the day of the week, either abbreviated or in full (ex. Monday or Mon, Tuesday or Tue, etc.)

End-to-End Encryption ?

Do you have some more context?

I am just throwing this as a remote possibility.

But the exact context would help to better assist you.
