In an activity package description - on offer is taking part in a rally in a small jeep. Talking about the development of the vehicle, the qualities it needed. Context: " ... ce véhicule doit être : léger (pour les transport en avion); peu volumineux (il doit pouvoir se faufiler et être **dégager** à la main); rapide (au moins capable de rouler à une vitesse soutenue de 100 km/h)..." I presume that it should be "dégagé", but what does it mean? Thanks for any help.

Yes, it should be "dégagé" -se faufiler: narrow car gauge, short wheelbase and small turning radius.
-dégagé à la main (freed from a tricky situation with hand pushing or manual jack or winch): lightweight

as a non-specialist @philgoddard I'm not a car fiend! se faufiler, as I am sure you know (I'm v. good at stating the obvious!) is to weave in and out of (in a car) traffic, in order to get ahead. The link with "dégager" would no doubt be a car that is easy to handle and manoeuvre.

neutral Philippe Etienne : It could also mean being freed from stones underneath that make the car lose traction (wheels in the air), using long-traval jacks and filling beneath the free wheel, ie anything that prevents it from moving.

It could be treacle or pingpong balls too, but mud, sand and snow are the most likely :-)
