"Prime Cost Item" means a designated item, good, material or Plant which has not been selected Dr the cost of which is not known at the time of entering into the Contract and which is required for the Works, the rate for which is included in the Contract and designated as a "Prime Cost Item" or "PC" rate in an item description in the Bill of Quantities (or in any of the other Contract documents).
