Spanish term

comportamientos escalonados

Spanish to English Science Environment & Ecology recycling behaviour

Discussion

pistacho (asker) Feb 14, 2018:
Muriel Vasconcellos Feb 14, 2018:
Subsequent context? It would help to know if there is discussion of the term going forward int he text. Lots of good options for "escalonado" at: https://www.linguee.es/espanol-ingles/search?source=auto&que...

stepped behavior = a behavior that does not change continuously because it moves from one stage to another. This is what a step (escalonada) function expresses

neutral liz askew : but is this relevant in the context of recycling behavior/behaviour and do you have references for this?

As previously mentioned, much of the challenge facing recycling participation now isn't simply ...

scaled behaviours

Literally. Sounds terrible, but that's what it is. A scale of "behaviours". Normally used in things like time and motion studies (or whatever they're called nowadays)

And, for example, measured by: "A recycling behaviour scale comprising four items regarding levels and types of recycling activities, scored on a five-point itemized category format"...

NB: Yesterday, an asker complained that the references I posted were "from another field" not specifically related with the query. I'd just like to add that my approach to kudoz queries can be rather scattergun, and often I'm simply posting links containing examples of usage, which may not often be in the exact thematic area pertaining to the query.
