Maturation dotyczy udaru (ogniska udarowego). Zamiast dosłownego "dojrzewania" można według mnie zastosować progresję ogniska udarowego. Chodzi o progresję zmian obserwowanych w określonych odcinkach czasu (domyślnie w kolejnych CT). Extension z kolei to powiększenie tego ogniska na obszar unaczyniany przez MCA.
