Spanish term

dipolimeros y terpolimeros

Spanish to English Tech/Engineering Materials (Plastics, Ceramics, etc.)
Estimados:

"A polymer derived from more than one species of monomer. Note: Copolymers that are obtained by copolymerization of two monomer species are sometimes termed bipolymers, those obtained from three monomers terpolymers, those obtained from four monomers quaterpolymers, etc."

Terpolímeros son aquellos conformados por tres tipos de monómeros, como el ABS

"Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) is a common thermoplastic polymer. Its glass transition temperature is approximately 105 °C (221 °F). ABS is amorphous and therefore has no true melting point. ABS is a terpolymer made by polymerizing styrene and acrylonitrile in the presence of polybutadiene."

El término "dipolymer" no es muy común

Mar 31, 2016 - Let's start with the common thread "polymer" first. " Poly " comes from the Greek word for many. As it pertains to plastic, it means many of the building blocks of monomers such as ethylene, propylene, styrene, etc. strung together in long chains to add up to polymers."

nounCHEMISTRY
a polymer made by reaction of **two** different monomers, with units of more than one kind.

neutral philgoddard : Surely, based on your first reference, the answer should be bipolymer -- or dipolymer, which gets plenty of hits. It doesn't say "copolímeros".

I am a polymer engineer and had never seen it used this way before today and we used almost only English papers and books in college
