Ho visto che per "non-wire alternatives" si intende delle pratiche e investimenti nel settore della produzione dell'energia elettrica per ridurre la necessità di progetti per il trasporto e/o la distribuzione tramite la riduzione della congestione del sistema di distribuzione nei periodi di picco della richiesta in aree specifiche della rete elettrica, però non so come rendere la parte tra asterischi in italiano.
Avevo pensato a "maggiore efficienza della rete di distribuzione" ma temo che possa essere una formulazione troppo generale.

Per "efficiency" userei un tecnicamente più rigoroso "rendimento". Per "non wire" sembra appropriato "fuori rete" o "non da distribuzione".

inizialmente avevo pensato a soluzioni / pratiche alternative ai sistemi in cavo, ma in realtà il concetto è molto più ampio e comprende, come spiegato in entrambi i casi qui sotto, l’ “energy efficiency” che viene data come un esempio di “non-wires alternative”
per cui penso che la tua soluzione non sia poi così generica
