from the WIKI In effetti il "testo" risale all'Antica Roma. Originariamente la parola latina testum indicava un vaso o pentola di terracotta, ma anche il coperchio della stessa, che riempito di brace veniva usato per cuocere, anche da sopra. In associazione con la "tegula" anch'essa di terracotta, che indicava una teglia ma anche una vera e propria tegola da tetto usata per cuocere alla brace. Il termine si mantenne poi anche per l'utensile odierno[1].

Also have a lid which may be loaded with burning coals in order to cook the food from the top

Il termine “Testaroli” deriva dalla parola “testo”, che è il contenitore in ghisa (un tempo in argilla)
