Neil Ashby Aug 29, 2017:
Hi Robert On the other hand, I can't see how "ratio" would fit into the sentence; neither grammatically nor logically.
FWIW, I think "correlation" is a much lesser stretch of the imagination - they're studying a new 'molecular technique' which provides results that correlate well with those derived from the urease test.

Robert Carter Aug 18, 2017:
@David I didn't mean to seem rude, but I honestly can't think of any instance where I've seen "relación" mean "correlación", so unless you think it's a typo, I think it would be helpful to understand your logic here. I know it would seem to make sense in the context, but this is a technical piece of writing, so I'd be surprised if this term was misused. "Relación" might mean "ratio", but we would need more context to know if it applies here. Myself, I can't tell.

neutral Robert Carter : What makes you think "relación" means "correlation". Can you give any examples of this usage?//OK: this answer seems to me more of a guess than anything else, yet your confidence rating suggests otherwise.

can you give us your input?
agree Rubén Muñoz : I believe "high correlation" does appropriately convey the idea intended by "alta relacion", expecially in the context of a specialized field of study.
