dar una buena vereada

Spanish to English Other Idioms / Maxims / Sayings Guatemalan slang
It appears in "social network" messages from some sort of vigilante group, probably Guatemala. Everyone they don't like is going to receive una buena vereada.

teach them a lesson they won't forget

I can't find the meaning of the word "vereada" but from the context I suppose they are planning something unpleasant. this expression is vague so could cover a variety of actions.

Thanks, Muriel!
agree JohnMcDove : Probably "vAreada", from "vareada" 2. tr. Dar golpes con vara o palo. / I.e., thrashing them, giving them a hiding, beating them up.

Sorry, " come-uppance" ( not two ' comes';)

neutral Muriel Vasconcellos : Not sure vigilantes would use the word "comeuppance." I mean, because it's not a word that tough guys use.
