Es geht hier um einen Analysebericht zu verschiedenen Virusstämmen. Ich weiß im Moment nciht, wie wild-type und field isolates zusammenkommen.

: Ja, als "Wildtyp ... wird in der Genetik ein Lebewesen bezeichnet, dessen Genom in einem Zustand vorliegt, wie er natürlicherweise durch die Evolution entstanden ist" (Wikipedia).

"Wildtyp" bezieht sich auf das Genom des Erregers, nämlich das natürliche, übliche Genom ohne Mutationen, die die Eigenschaften wesentlich verändern – insbesondere ohne Mutationen, die experimentell im Labor erzeugt wurden.
