- Συνάντησα κι έναν άλλον όρο : ''Το Συμβούλιο των Εφόρων'' σε κειμενο που αφορά την διοίκηση του Πανεπιστημίου Κεντρικής Ευρώπης. Στην περίπτωση αυτή όμως υπάρχει ένα ειδικό διοικητικό συμβούλιο, αποκαλούμενο "Board of trustees" κι ένα συμβούλιο με εποπτικές αρμοδιότητες, αποκαλούμενο "Board of regents". Στα πανεπιστήμια των ΗΠΑ όμως, σε γενικές γραμμές, η διοίκηση ασκείται από ένα διοικητικό συμβούλιο, ονομαζόμενο "the board of regents".
