Verhandlungslehre will give it that sophisticated attribute expressed by the word science, but it leans more towards academic discipline.

Methodik des Verhandelns might be a stronger, more appropriate and engaging expression.


I don't recommend using "Wissenschaft." Unless the rest of the text gives you reason to ... if "science" is used in the sense of "Wissenschaft" - then useWissenschaft des Verhandelns But to me, "science" here implies complex negotiating process/concept, not a scientific discipline.

In German, one finds Verhandlungskonzept or Konzept des Verhandelns which implies a professional approach to negotiating; see "Harvard-Verhandlungskonzept" (link below)

Other alternatives:
professioneller Verhandlungsansatz or since you might already use Ansatz elesewhere,
differenziertes/komplexes Verhandlungskonzept, fein abgestimmte/hochentwickelte Verhandlungstechnik, etc.


I also like this one:

die "Kunst des Verhandelns" would be "art of ..."; I think they are using "science" for a reason; they mean "technique - as in something that can be acquired by following rules;" otherwise I would have expected "Kunst" or "Kunst und Wissenschaft."

Ich hab die englische Phrase als "Technik des Verhandeln" interpretiert und "komplex" etc. wird im Engl. durch "science" abgedeckt. Ferner gibt's weitere Überlegungen in meinem Eintrag.

Ich hatte mir schon ein bisschen Unterstützung für meine Interpretation erwartet, aber das ist schon okay. Allerdings wollt ich die drei agrees nicht einfach so dastehen lassen und halt meine Meinung ausdrücken.
