split grommets

English to French Other Transport / Transportation / Shipping
it is for a rear view camera

Before drilling please check that no cable or wiring is on the other side of the wall. Please clamp all wires securely to reduce the possibility of them being damaged while vehicle is in use. Keep all cables away from hot or moving parts and electrical noisy components.
Step 1: Choose the monitor and camera locations.
Step 2: Install all cables in vehicle, when necessary a 0.8 (20mm) hole should be drilled for passing camera cable through vehicles walls. Install split grommets where applicable.

English term (edited): split grommet

passe-fils en deux parties

Although I'm generally familiar with the idea of a 'split' component in this sort of context being one that is made in 2 parts, usually for ease of installation, it is not immediately clear to me if here we are dealing with a grommet that is split either side of the bulkhead, or rather, one that is in 2 semi-circular parts, which would enable it to be fitted round the cable if connectors etc. prevented its being threaded on from one end or the other.

Merci, Florence !
agree Jennifer Levey : Given the size of the hole - 20mm - the grommet is almost certainly big enough to pass any plug or cable socket for a camera; hence, the parts will be circular, one on each side of the wall.
