German term
\"metallurgische Wertschöpfung\"
German to English
Bus/Financial
Metallurgy / Casting
recycling and the supply chain
"Geforscht wird über die ganze Breite der metallurgischen Wertschöpfung – von Erkundung und Gewinnung über Aufbereitung und Metallurgie bis hin zum Recycling."
"über alle Etappen der metallurgischen Wertschöpfung"
"für die Forschung entlang der gesamten Wertschöpfung mineralischer und metallhaltiger Rohstoffe"
Wertschöpfung appears many times in the text I'm translating. When it appears as "Wertschöpfungskette", I have translated it as "supply chain" which fits with the context. However, in the other contexts where is appears, I am struggling. I can only find it defined as 'value creation' or 'added value' which don't seem to fit the context. I feel like it must have something to do with the supply chain in these contexts too but cannot find the fitting word / phrase.
Does anyone have any ideas?

"metallurgische Wertschöpfung"
metallurgy sector/lifecycle
I usually translate it as 'supply chain', the same as Wertschöpfungskette, and I agree that 'value creation' and 'added value' don't quite work.
But it sounds like the term has been used excessively in your document, so you may need to find near synonyms.
'Sector' works in all three of the examples you've given - for example the first one could be "we carry out research in every area of the metallurgy sector'. 'Product lifecycle' is another possibility.

: Perhaps 'along the entire (metallurgical) product lifecycle' or something similar.
