In many instances, 'vanne' is the most appropriate technical translation.

It is in fact arguable if 'cock' is really the right term here in EN anyway; we don't have enough context to be sure, but I half suspect perhaps this text has already been translated into EN, or was written by a non-native speaker.

"bullcock"? Do you not mean 'ballcock'? And then again, what KIND of 'ballcock'? I think that may require a different term again!
