Could someone explain the expression?

Discussion

Cilian O'Tuama Jul 15, 2016:
@Phil So would I. Am just trying to think of plausible explanation considering the "discussion forum" context.
Claudia Coja (asker) Jul 15, 2016:
Oh wow - yes, you are right, it makes much more sense now! Thank you! I have contacted my client meanwhile - I 'm waiting for an answer - but I think this is how I should understand the text.
lorenab23 Jul 15, 2016:
Since the statement makes reference to "materials"
-You are solely responsible for the content and context of any materials
-[...]publish through the websites any materials which:
I would think that "false or misleading indication of origin or statements of facts" makes reference to the "materials" (i.e. to attribute a quote to somebody when that person never said it, etc.)
Maybe? My two cents ;-)
philgoddard Jul 15, 2016:
Cilian I would normally take "indication of origin" to mean "where this product comes from".
Claudia Coja (asker) Jul 15, 2016:
Thank you both! I will ask the client - maybe it was cut and pasted, that's what I thought, too.
Cilian O'Tuama Jul 15, 2016:
You must be honest about where you come from (origin) and you must be truthful.

?
philgoddard Jul 15, 2016:
Maybe it's been cut and pasted from somewhere else, because it doesn't make sense in this context. If you're translating it into Romanian, I'd say something like "false or misleading information" for the whole of the text in bold.
Claudia Coja (asker) Jul 15, 2016:
No - that's why it doesn't make sense - it's about a discussion forum.
philgoddard Jul 15, 2016:
What kind of website is it? Something to do with buying and selling?
