German term

Datenschnitt

German to English Science Mathematics & Statistics Clinical trials
64 Patienten wurden bis zum Interim-Datenschnitt bzw. dem EMA-Datenschnitt auf andere Behandlungen gewechselt.
64 patients were switched to other treatments up to the interim database lock or the EMA database lock.

Hello. Could this be a "database lock" in clinical trials? Anyone know of another clinical trials term that corresponds to this concept?

Thanks in advance!

Discussion

CMarc (asker) May 31, 2016:
In the following sentences, I don't see how I can use data cut-off (maybe data sets?) "Es gibt finalen-konfirmatorischen Datenschnitten, und Datenschnitte mit und ohne Sicherheitsdaten. Datenschnitten mit Gesamtüberleben und ohne Morbiditäten."

Thank you, Ramey :-)
disagree Daniel Arnold (X) : i dont think so, this is about database and analysis (as the asker has confirmed). I'd be careful is all I can say. In the asker's discussion entry, cut-off date makes very little sense, in my opinion.

Strangely enough, the experts working in this field have a different opinion here//Seems like you do not understand what it is all about, so you'd rather be careful with your disagrees

Slicer

This may refer to slicer or data slicer as found in Microsoft Excel. Slicers are a means of filtering or selecting data. They are used in pivot tables. This meaning is not specific to clinical trials, but it is relevant to data analysis.
Example sentence:

In Microsoft Excel 2010 müssen Sie die Option Datenschnitte zum Filtern der Daten verwendet.

In Microsoft Excel 2010, you have the option to use slicers to filter the data.

What is a Data Cut?
 A data cut is a predefined subset of the clinical study database
 Typically, all available data at a pre-specified point in time, or a subset of data collected up to that point in time

Why Use a Data Cut?
 Interim analyses are prepared to support the objectives of a study and enable decisions
for a project
 A data cut provides a static set of data on which to perform an interim analysis
– allows for traceability and reproducibility of results while the study is ongoing and
data continue to be collected
