Romanian term

vederea in duh

Romanian to English Art/Literary Poetry & Literature Clarvederea
“Vederea in duh”, termen folosit in antichitate, nu este altceva decat ceea ce astazi poarta numele de perceptie extrasenzoriala extinsa, clarvedere sau de "a doua vedere". Schimbarea registrului perceptiv aduce dupa sine activarea unor simturi speciale: vederea eterica, auzul eteric, mirosul eteric si simtul vechimii.

"Spiritual sight????", a term used in antiquity, is nothing more than what today is called extended extrasensory perception, clairvoyance or "second sight". The change of the perceptive register brings on the activation of some special senses: ethereal sight, ethereal hearing, etheric smell and seniority sense.

Discussion

Lara Barnett May 11, 2016:
@ I Love London "brings on the activation" is not necessary. You should just use "activates". It sounds a bit tautologous.

"The change of the perceptive register activates some (of our) special senses such as ethereal sight, ethereal hearing, etheric smell and sense of seniority." ("Seniority sense" sounds awkward).

(the gift of) clear sight

1. apparition/sighting is one perceived supernatual phenomenon, not the capacity itself.

2. a term used in antiquity is clearly required:
”In his introduction to the Greek edition Bishop Irenaeus of Chania writes: "The words of blessed Elder Porphyrios are the words of a holy Father, of a man with the gift of clear sight”

”He became a monk at the age of fourteen and took the name of Niketas. Two years later he took his final
monastic vows of the Great Schema. Shortly thereafter he was granted the gift of clear sight.”

supernatural apparition / supernatural sighting

You can say "sighting", but to use this term the fuller meaning is conveyed IMO.

Sorry, above I mean that "apparition" gives the fuller meaning IMO.
Example sentence:

"Florence, assisted by a SUPERNATURAL APPARITION, accidentally kills Judd in self-defense. "

"But it was not the only SUPERNATURAL SIGHTING in the house of horrors."

ESP is most commonly called the "sixth sense." It is sensory information that an individual receives which comes beyond the ordinary five senses sight, hearing, smell, taste, and touch. It can provide the individual with information of the present, past, and future; as it seems to originate in a second, or alternate reality.

Cred ca la asta se refera "vederea in duh" si nu la fenomene supranaturale. "Foresight" e totodata sinonim cu explicatiile ulterioare "clairvoyance, extended extrasensory perception, second sight".

Second sight is a form of extrasensory perception, the supposed power to perceive things that are not present to the senses, whereby a person perceives information, in the form of a vision, about future events before they happen (precognition), or about things or events at remote locations (remote viewing).

As defined by Wikipedia.

Maybe these will be relevant enough examples, these all seem to have a different meaning to clairvoyance.
Example sentence:

The gift of foresight or clairvoyance has been know to our Ancestors since before time was time.

We try to raise our children with that kind of foresight (clairvoyance) operating in what we teach our children.

Peer comment(s):

neutral adami : That's the gift of seeing into the future, not the gift of extrasensory perceptions.//That example is not relevant enough to trump even the dictionary definition.

Some call it a premonition others intuition or sixth sense, while some may call it extra sensory perception (ESP) or remote viewing; others may refer to is as foresight, telepathy or the paranormal. http://newscastmedia.com/gut-feelings.html
