About the book of Proverbs
Prov 21:29
A bold face is a futile attempt to cover up or compensate for a path that is wicked, but the upright does not need a cover-up because he is wise in attending ***honestly*** to his ways.
What is the sense of "honestly" here?

There is no need to "put on a bold face" or try to hide anything because everything has been done openly in a legitimate and just way
synonyms: fairly, lawfully, legally, legitimately, decently, ethically, morally, by fair means, by just means, in good faith, by the book, in accordance with the rules;

this is the proverb
A wicked man puts on a bold face, (tries to hide what he has done...brazen it out)
but the upright gives thought to his ways (the righteous man thinks about what he is doing and does everything right)

: 'truly' and 'really' scarcely fit in the context given, even 'sincerely' is a bit of a stretch.

Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him and he will do this (Psalm 37:5)
Those who trust in themselves are fools, but those who walk in wisdom are kept safe. (Proverbs 28:26)
So as I understand, to walk with Lord honestly means to follow him with all of our hearts; and in times of trouble bringing him all our sorrow and trust, not requesting a solution but trusting in HIS solution for us. Trusting that his plan for us is better than our earth-bounded plans in life.

I just expressed my opinion about the question and not about the religion in general. I found your comment a bit rude. Thank you very much. I am sorry you feel my answer not related to the question.

: Really isn't anything to do with the question asked, nor is the answer even indirectly relevant. / Maybe the 'discussion' box would be a better place to do that?

: It's essential to understand the difference between translation of a term and expressing a theological position.
