Bonjour,

Quel est le terme exact pour l'expression « academics commentators » dans la phrase ci-dessous ?

Secondly, I want to understand how deindustrialisation has been experienced in the UK over the last three decades or more and as part of that how have academics and critical commentators conceptualised the process.

Voici ma proposition : chroniqueurs universitaires et critiques.
Jai également trouvé l'expression « analystes universitaires ».
Qu'en pensez-vous ?

Merci (c'est urgent)

Virginie that's unfair
DLyons Mar 24, 2016:
IMHO both the asker and the answerers are missing the point and the Glossary entry is just plain wrong. And leaving things to the community seems to show little engagement. So I'm just going to disagree with everyone and leave it at that.
Virginie JANVIER-LELONG (asker) Mar 24, 2016:
Vous avez tout à fait raison... une erreur de lecture de ma part ! "academics" est un nom et non pas un adjectif. Merci beaucoup.
Tony M Mar 24, 2016:
@ Asker You are parsing it incorrectly: this is not 'academics commentators' (that doesn't work in EN, as a noun qualifyiung another noun is almost always in the singular.

So you have 2 distinct things: 'academics' and 'critical commentators'
Renate Radziwill-Rall Mar 24, 2016:
Yes, it says clearly academics and critical commentators

les universitaires / les chercheurs

Il ne me semble pas que le terme que vous recherchez soit véritablement "academics commentators" ; il me semble que le problème vient plutôt d'une mauvaise lecture de la syntaxe. Il y a d'un côté "academics" et de l'autre "critical commentators". Serait-il possible d'obtenir confirmation auprès d'un natif ?
Peer comment(s):

agree StefanoFarris : AcademicS: PLURAL, NAME, not an adjective of "commentators".

'commentators' must be translated.

neutral Didier Fourcot : Un agrégé a réussi l'agrégation, il peut exercer à l'université (PRAG), rare exemple d'enseignant non-chercheur, mais plus couramment dans un lycée, c'est un titre, pas une profession
