Hello
I've got a number of hits but none of them in a dictionary unfortunately
I vissa partier stöter du på sumpskog med gran och björk samt höga ***starrtuvor*** som tillsammans med björk- och videbuskar ibland bildar svårframkomliga snår
I have also found pictures such as
http://docplayer.se/docs-images/17/140202/images/13-0.jpg
but there is about as much chance of me recognising a species of rush as of me going to the moon :(
Can anyone bail me out pleeeaasseee
Thanks

sedgegrass tussock
Some reading that gives u the specifics. I'd go with the broad category here, as most readers understand as 'some kind of grass' and still it is a technical name of the 'largest group of 'starrarter'

Comment: "Thanks to everyone. I choose 'sedgegrass' but that was a bit arbitrary."

sedge tufts / tufts of sedge
This is how I'd say it - several references available, e.g.

Agneta Pallinder
: To me there is a difference between tufts (the strands of sedge growth) and tussocks (the accumulation of the sedge and sedge roots that you can actually stand on when traversing a bog) and the latter is a "tuva".
