When patients were hypothyroid, mean blood residence time was longer in the Group 1 than in the Group 2. The euthyroid-to-hypothyroid ratio was smaller in the Group 1 (0.71) than in the Group 2 (0.78).
Overall, mean blood residence time (P-decay = *Physical decay after last data point*) was shorter for patients in the euthyroid state than in the hypothyroid state...The activity-time curves (% administered activity over time [hours]) were characterized by 2 components—a fast component consisting of a straight line decay observed over the first 2 days (48 h) on the semi-log plot, and a slower long-term retention decay сomponent. These curves were used to determine radioiodine (131I) clearance from each patient’s thyroid bed as characterized by the effective half-time (t1/2) calculated from each patient’s activity-time curve.
