Mi dispiace Luca, today in Hungary is a day-off, today and tomorrow we all going to cemeteries (goirno dei morti) to place candles etc. I can return here earliest only on Tuesday morning when I can reach the engineer of the railway and he speaks Italian. I am sure for 95% this is the "opposing direction signal".

I found it in Hungarian too, this "ellenkező irányú jelző" (literally opposite direction signal)

@ Peter Thank you Peter. I am perplexed about the idea that the operator should pass the signal before communicating with the signalman: could it not be possible that "achter" should be intended from the other point of sight, hence "before" the signal from the operator point of sight?

A questo punto la traduzione mi pare quasi certamente "segnale di direzione contraria" per denotare un segnale che indica la provenienza di un treno in direzione contraria, ma poiché non lo trovo in uso da nessuna parte, sono ancora incerto se usare l'espressione più ampia "segnale di blocco", lasciando al lettore l'incombenza di desumere il tipo di segnale di blocco, trattandosi di un segnale apposto su un binario singolo, prima del quale bisogna arrestarsi (e, nel caso di materiali speciali sprovvisti di rilevamento treni, comunicare con il segnalatore).

for rail vehicles that do not produce the required performance on an isolated track, the traffic controller has to have the operator report that he is at destination or has passed the counter-signal

With thelp of signalling-based systems, the train road is sectiond to "blocks" marked with signals both by their "entrance" (start) and their "exit" (endpoint).

De meest ideale beveiliging is de beveiliging die de naam DUBBEL ENKELSPOOR heeft gekregen. Techneuten hebben het ook wel over 4-draads APB. Dit betekent dat met slechts 4 draden langs de baan (per rijrichting een aderpaar voor de seinsturing) het Absoluut Permissief Blokstelsel wordt gerealiseerd. Op ieder spoor staan voor beide rijrichtingen seinen. In beide richtingen kunnen nu meerdere treinen onderweg zijn, overwegen werken altijd normaal. Bijkomend voordeel is, dat een trein halverwege kan keren, mocht er iets gebeuren. Het tegensein na de laatste trein komt weer op groen als de trein deze is gepasseerd, als er tenminste niet nog een trein onderweg is uiteraard.... De termen RS en LS worden echter nog steeds gebruikt op dit baanvak.

Segnale di blocco a due vie

Segnali di blocco doppio in una stazione di carico

I segnali di blocco a due vie o doppi sono usati su binari che i treni possono impegnare da entrambe le direzioni. L'uso più comune è alle stazioni terminali, dove i treni entrano ed escono dalla stessa parte della stazione. Nell'esempio a destra, i segnli dirigono il prossimo treno ad entrare nella zona di carico vuota. Inoltre impediscono ad un treno di lasciare la zona di carico se un altro treno occupa i binari di uscita.
Se un treno può scegliere tra due o più direzioni, tutte con segnali di blocco doppie, sceglierà la direzione con segnale verde. Se tutti i segnali sono rossi aspetterà finché il segnale non diventi verde.
I segnali di blocco doppi erano già introdotti nell'originale originale Transport Tycoon.
