Тема тут конечно не имеет отношения к генетике, скорее к питанию:
"Гранулы идут во многих размерах начиная от 16 мм «Big Fish Mix pellets» от «Essex Bait Services» до крошечных 4 мм «Micromass pellets» от «Clive Deidrich» ."

Но я думаю, что pellets тут гранулы, это нейтральное слово. А micromass означает маленький, крошечный.
