Arabic term
خير يا طير
Arabic to English
Art/Literary
Idioms / Maxims / Sayings
I'm afraid in this case I actually don't have the specific context in which it is being used, but I am wondering about both the general translation and its implication (for instance, does it have any particular religious/secularist connotations)? Any further information about its specific use would be at least as helpful as just the translation itself. I've always thought of this as being the exact same as "خير؟" ("is everything okay? / Is it good news?"), but please let me know your impressions. Thanks in advance!

So what?
In its contemporary colloquial usage it simple means 'and so what?', 'what's the big deal?', and so on.
