The pink parts are faying surfaces.
The faying surfaces are partly flanged to protrude outwardly.
The faying surfaces have an outwardly flanged part.
I think "flanged to protrude" is redundant, because "flange" itself means "a projecting rim."
I wonder if the second one sounds fine.
