Portuguese term
radiofrequência fundamental

Anatel Consulta Pública 23 de 2 de setembro de 2015
I am having problems with the term "fundamental" that appears in this Consulta Pública in various ways. Ex.
"radiofrequência fundamental", "a emissão fundamental", "emissão da frequência fundamental".
Could it be "baseband"? Thus "baseband frequency", "the baseband emission", "emission of the baseband frequency"...
Or is it something totally different?
Please answer only if you are fairly sure of the correct technical term!
Thanks in advance.

fundamental frequency
Frequency of the carrier. Usually, it is the central frequency of the transmission band.
"baseband" does not fit here. "Baseband" relates to the signal before modulation.
So, "baseband frequency" is the original frequency of the signal, before modulated over the carrier.

Many thanks, JM. This seems to be the answer. It didn't turn up in my searches, I don't know why. |
