Spanish term

trazado

Spanish to English Other Mathematics & Statistics Descriptive Geometry
Hello all! I am working on a course description that is part of a Meixican university's graphic design and communication program. The course is called "Geometría Descriptiva." The term "trazado" appears in the following section of the list of topics and subtopics:

5.4 *trazados*
5.4.1 Perspectiva de elementos singulares.
5.4.2Tratamientos especiales.
5.4.3 Dimensionado.

I hope this is of use, as it is all the context I have. Thanks for your help!

Discussion

Helena Chavarria Sep 1, 2015:
I think 5.3.1 (constructions) is different to 5.4 (plotting). I'm just thinking of technical drawing classes I've watched. First the students learn how do draw each figure separately and then comes the plotting.

An analogy would be dancers learning how to do each step separately and then joining them together to create the dance itself.
DLyons Sep 1, 2015:
I wouldn't bet on "trazados de base" and "bases de trazado" referring to the same things :-)

I've looked at others, but I wasn't sure that the contexts were exactly the same. Could you post the link?
philgoddard Sep 1, 2015:
We had this very recently in an identical context, and there are many other glossary entries for this word. Have you looked at it?
Billh Sep 1, 2015:
layout is possible as this is what this translates in another context but maybe not here

graphing

*graphing of conic sections

*plotting is about drawing points in space; graphing is about drawing the lines connecting points in space
Peer comment(s):

neutral DLyons : Graphing has little to do with projections, perspectives etc.

The projection points must be connected by lines: this is what graphing is about
