partial fluid balance

It seems that "fluid balance" is used more often in this context (which I assume is a patient in the hospital).

Wikipedia says: "Fluid balance is the concept of human homeostasis that the amount of fluid lost from the body is equal to the amount of fluid taken in."

I find very few online instances of "partial fluid balance" but it still seems like a valid translation:

"... while a total of 82 minutes was required for partial fluid balance recording every 24 hours ..."

Found in the same online resource about fluid balance:

" A complete fluid balance chart contains all fluid input/output components, while a partially completed fluid balance chart contains only fluid input components. "

agree philgoddard : Maybe it just means "less than 24 hours".

Thank you.
neutral RobertM (X) : "...a partially completed fluid balance chart contains only fluid input components", but the bilancio idrico parziale contains both the input ("IN 2232 cc") and the output ("OUT 2920 cc") data.

Hi Anne. Thanks for the explanation.
agree Anne Schulz : Definitely "fluid balance" – and I agree with philgoddard that "partial" may refer to the fact that 24 hours have not passed (e.g. at the time of referral from the ICU to another ward).

incomplete fluid balance charts/records/data/calculations

The incomplete fluid balance charts made it difficult to determine whether a patient had been provided with adequate fluids. Where patients were on intravenous fluids, this was not noted on some fluid balance charts.

The incomplete fluid balance charts (reference pages 00063 and 00064) demonstrate that there has been inadequate education on the completing of these charts. In addition to this the fluid balance chart has errors - for example the Intake does not have a column for the time to be entered...

While there were additional factors that contributed to other fluid losses, and fluid balance data are incomplete, these cases highlight a need for increased vigilance when managing children with external ventricular drains.

..., poor record keeping on some wards, for example, incomplete fluid balance charts and care plans was also a concern.
